Laila Jonsson is my awesome Mother. She grew up in Sweden, and so has been knitting practically from birth. She is never without a project in her hands. She can be found knitting socks, amazingly complex shawls, dog sweaters, you name it she’s knit it. She and her mother, my Mormor, have always encouraged me to knit, (probably to keep my little fingers busy and out of trouble) and taught me how at a young age. Knitting has always been part of my life because of them. No one has been a bigger cheerleader in my farming challenge and I am grateful for her constant support.

My mother has, in recent years, also become a very talented quilter. She has made so many quilts I’ve lost track of them all. Themed quilts from her travels, or honoring a niece’s love of horses, they come in all shapes and sizeds. All beautiful, each unique. If you’ve seen me at a festival or show anywhere, you’ve inevitably seen some of her handiwork in the form of hats, mitts, scarves and gorgeous shawls. I would like to take this opportunity to share some of her quilts with you as well.

While she mostly makes all these things for the joy of making and to use up her most impressive “stash” of yarn and fabric, she does occasionally take on custom requests. So if you see something you like, but hate the color or whatever, just drop us a line via the contact us link on the About page and we’ll see if we can accomodate you.
